Check Earth Connection
Check the outlet you are plugging your grounding mat into with an outlet checker. The outlet checker will determine if there is even electrical energy coming from the port. Sometimes, older homes (before the 1960s) may have few outlets (if any) that have been grounded. In this case, consider using an Earthing ground rod.
