Are Grounding Sheets Dangerous?

Earthing sheets

November 24, 2020 By Mark Hansen

Are you hesitating on buying a set of grounding sheets because you are worried about how safe they are? I used to be the same way before I started using mine at home.

As an insomniac, these products have made a world of difference to me. Grounding sheets are designed to replicate the electric current of the earth. This brings with it plenty of health benefits and makes you feel better.

Safe, effective & high quality sheets.

We are going to be covering whether or not these products are safe and the pros and cons of each, be sure to read on!

Are Grounding Sheets Dangerous?

No, not when used as intended. The wire only plugs into the ground opening of an outlet, which carries no electrical current and can’t shock you. As long as you read the instructions and use your grounding product properly, there should be almost no dangers to using it.

The Pros of Grounding

There are many benefits to earthing grounding that you might not be aware of. When you ground, your body may be better equipped to help heal chronic diseases. In my experience, the grounding lowered my blood pressure over time. It also helped my body in more ways than just that.

When you ground (with a sheet or outside) you are likely to see improvements in sleep, stress levels, and lowered amounts of pain.

Of course, this is after more than one day of grounding for 30 minutes. You will need to do this daily to achieve all potential benefits. People will often give up too soon.

Your nervous system operates on electrical signals within your body. It has an influence on how you sleep or if you are in pain. When you ground, it balances the negative and positive electrons in your body. Positive energy builds up constantly from our proximity to electronic devices in the modern world. Negative electrons have an effect on the electricity already in your body-calming the reactions in your nervous system.

This is why you could experience all of those health benefits. I know that the effects on me were significant. I noticed lowered stress levels and an improvement at work. Plus, I no longer felt sleep pain at night.

The Cons of Grounding

There’s no real downside to walking barefoot outside. Earthing products just mimic that activity, so aside from the cost there’s no real downside to those either.

It is completely safe to discharge electrical energy into the earth. Many people have ancestors who spent all of their lives walking barefoot which is what this is imitating.

People often worry about receiving an injury from electricity. But you shouldn’t. In a standard US three-prong outlet, the 2 slots are where the electrical current resides. The round opening is the ground, which can’t shock you. It is used to carry energy away from your body and back to the earth (thus the name “ground” wire).

That way, you never have to worry about being shocked. There are no sheet dangers either when these earth grounding products are used properly.

So, are you considering getting grounded? If you want to ground and become one with the earth, you will need to know more.

To Ground or Not to Ground: That is the Question

Should you get grounded or not? Well, that depends. If it is something you are interested in- then go for it! There are a lot of benefits to becoming more connected to the earth. Inflammation was a huge one for me.

If you have high cortisol levels you want to lower or struggle with chronic inflammation-then a ground item may help you greatly. If you do not have the budget for one of those right now, then making direct contact with the ground is still going to help your body.

Earthing sheets are a great way to supplement ground time. If you do not get outdoors enough, you will want to find other ways to connect with the earth. People often bring their earthing mats to work or lay on them at home while they relax.

So, I would have to say that everyone should be able to connect with the earth more. No matter how you decide to ground, there are options that should work for anyone. Be sure that you read more of my ground articles if you want to learn more about earthing and how it works.

How to Safely Use Grounding Sheets

In order to reduce pain and experience improved sleep, you will want to use the earthing sheets for at least 30 to 40 minutes a day. If you sleep on them, you’ll get far more exposure than that. If you ground outside as well, you can be less on your earth product. Many people prefer using both.

If you have a chronic disease, you may want to spend a lot more time grounding. Walk barefoot when you can and ground at home with your sheets. It is safe to make contact with the product overnight as well.

Final Thoughts on Earthing Sheet Safety

So, are earthing sheets safe? I think so. I have been using mine for years now to combat insomnia and other health issues. At 44 years old, I feel healthier now than I have in a very long time, thanks to earthing.
